Dear Parent,
This year has flown by so quickly, it’s hard to believe the school year is coming to a close. I have truly enjoyed teaching this great group of children who continually amaze me with their individual talents, vivid imaginations, and enthusiasm and dedication for learning. I would also like to thank all of you who have continually encouraged, supported and helped your child with all their learning over the course of the year. The extra time parents spend with their children at home reading, studying, or completing homework is invaluable.
As I reflect on the past year I have many great memories from our year and successes to celebrate with your children. I will miss being your child’s teacher and know they will hold a special place in my heart and teaching memories.
I sincerely hope everyone has an amazing summer and finds some time to relax and connect with family and friends. Thanks for a great year with a great bunch of kids!
Sincerely,
Mrs. Trithart

Inside the box Dr. Winter had trapped spring and within 45 minutes groups had to find and solve the puzzles to unlock the box and release spring. Please find below year long items and information you may find useful:
Spelling Format for the Year:
Our weekly spelling lists will consist of two components. The first component of the list will include SIX individualized words (#1-6 on your child's list) chosen from your child’s written work. To generate these SIX individualized words for your child I look for any misspelled words in their daily work and I record them on their individual spelling card. Words spelled incorrectly on weekly tests may also be added to the individual spelling card to learn the following week. The second component (#7-15 on your child's list) will consist of word families your child is expected to know in Grade 3. Weekly spelling words will be recorded by your child in his/her agenda on Monday and their weekly test will be dictated on Fridays. Throughout the month of September Word Work activities and strategies will be learned that the students will be required to use when practicing their spelling words at school during Daily Five. A list of these Word Work activities and strategies will be sent home at the end of the month for your child to use when they study for their weekly test. Students can also access our Vocabulary City website to practice their spelling words at home. On four day school weeks NO SPELLING TEST will be given, instead the students will learn language conventions or grammatical skills listed in the Grade 3 curriculum. Our Unit 1 spelling list will be coming home on Sept. 11th.
